Your tax dollars are funding a genocide.
“The government controls that, not us.” Ok, but why don’t you educate yourself on ways you can stop from indirectly funding the genocide? Why is it difficult for you to source your luxuries from brands that stand with Palestine?
I am in utter disbelief after seeing how people are reacting to this horrific reality of Palestine. Do you not care because it’s not directly affecting your community or do you simply not give two fucks about the thousands of innocent lives being lost?
We are privileged. I am privileged. I’m lucky that I have a roof over my head, clean running water, and food on my table. I’m lucky that my family is safe and healthy. I’m lucky that I don’t have to worry about getting bombed in my sleep or having to collect my loved ones' remains in a plastic bag. I’m lucky that I can simply turn my phone off when hearing about martyred souls gets “too much” for me. But what about the people in Palestine?
They cannot leave, they cannot escape. They cannot simply turn off their phones and live a privileged reality. Children are begging for death as they believe dying is easier than trying to stay alive in Gaza right now.
Does it not bother you?
Because it is consuming me. I feel guilty and sick that all I can do is donate, raise awareness, pace around and cry for the souls who were wrongfully robbed of their lives.
I’m so privileged and so lucky that I don’t have to watch my friends and family dying. I’m lucky I can meet the love of my life tomorrow while bereaving people in Gaza bury theirs forever today. I’m lucky that my childhood didn’t include the fear of getting displaced from my family or losing them. I’m lucky that I am alive. You’re lucky you are alive and breathing.
We can help these people with a tap of a button. You can make a difference by clicking one button to like, retweet, repost, and raise awareness. That’s the LEAST you can do for the people in Palestine.
Burn a candle for the ones we have lost. Take a moment of silence for the people who will never see the sun shine or hear the birds sing. Families in Palestine don’t even have the privilege of saying goodbye to their loved ones but we can do it for them. Pray for them. Think of them.
To the ones we have lost in Palestine, you will get your justice.
